Between summits and feelings.
Glad meadows, joyful flowers.
I call you by name, you Dolomite giants.
And you call it back to me.

A glance beyond the meadows reveals the summits of the Dolomites, majestic as they reach to the clouds. The Langkofel, Plattkofel, Schlern, the Sella massif: the most beautiful peaks of this UNESCO world natural heritage site are on the horizon, in the sky – it is almost impossible to view them enough. The ragged clouds dance round them, the sun paints these age-old, unyielding giants of rock that are nevertheless constantly changing.

Fresh green meadows form a soft, undulating carpet. The Seiser Alm is Europe’s largest high pasture. Perhaps, too, the most beautiful? It is enchanting – and enchanted! The Schlern, the witches’ mountain, can be seen from practically anywhere on the 60km² or so of the Alm. And there is the lively town of Kastelruth with its magnificent church tower! But peace prevails in and around the Hotel Icaro. No engine noise: it is a car-free zone. Peace, and just the mountains calling. And, right in the middle, I.

Right on the ski pistes in winter, right on the finest hiking trails in summer, the Hotel Icaro is ideal for explorers, strollers and winter enthusiasts – a 4**** basecamp in the midst of the mountains!
