The Hotel Icaro enjoys a quiet location on the Seiser Alm, which is closed to individual traffic from 9 am to 5 pm each day. Upon confirmation of your reservation at the Hotel Icaro, access is possible at any time: we will send you a pass prior to your journey. The pass entitles you:
- during your stay, to drive on the specified road section only before 10 am and after 5 pm
- to arrive and leave at any time of day (your booked room is available from 3 pm on your day of arrival until 11 am on your day of departure)
- to use the hotel car park during your stay
For a safe journey if you are coming in winter, we strongly recommend winter tyres and tyre chains (or winter tyres with all-wheel drive). Arriving by car
From the north, take the A22 Brenner autobahn and exit at “Klausen”, then head for the Seiser Alm via Waidbruck and Kastelruth. From the south, exit at “Bozen Nord” and head for the Seiser Alm via Blumau, Völs and Seis. From the village of Compatsch, simply follow the signs to the “Hotel Icaro” for some 3 km. Arriving by train
Travel to Brixen/Bressanone or Bozen/Bolzano railway station, then take the bus to Seis (get off at the Seiser Alm cable car). Take the cable car up to the Seiser Alm and we will by arrangement fetch you free of charge from the top station. Alternatively we will book a taxi to collect you from the station. Innsbruck airport
From the airport take a train to Bozen/Bolzano or Brixen/Bressanone, or take a taxi to the hotel. Caution: when planning your route, make sure you use the “Add destination” button to come via “San Valentino, Castelrotto, Italy”. (By default, the route planner suggests coming via St. Ulrich and Pufels: the road from Bulla to the Seiser Alm is however closed to traffic).
